Green is the color of leaves and trees, but I had never thought of it as a hue for flower petals—until I discovered the green paper in Oz. Instantly, I was captivated and knew I had to incorporate it into my work. The green, with delicate touches of gold and red, is absolutely stunning, and the swirling leaf patterns in the paper felt like a natural fit with the softness of flower petals. From there, I stumbled upon a vintage green glass vase and plate that harmonized perfectly with the paper.
I'm also enjoying the flexibility of brass sheet metal. I can cut and shape the stiff service to make it resemble ribbon. When I was a fiber artist many years ago I wrapped cords with handmade wool that looked like bubbles on a string. That same feeling returned to me with the curling wire and beads that accent the stem

Care Instructions
The papers used are treated for sun protection but I would not recommend full sun.
Dust with a cool hair dryer or clean cloth or paint brush. Don’t use water or cleaning products.

OZ base is a glass plate, wooden disk, and glass vase. The vase has an extending brass tube to form the flower stem. The leaves are cut from brass sheet metal with wrapped wire and malachite beads. The petals are made from paper, and a lamp bobeche topped by stamen cut from brass sheet metal.
